Ellis Bates Financial Advisers are delighted to announce their ‘Chosen Charities’ referral scheme.
At Ellis Bates, we want to make as big and positive impact as possible in our local communities. So, every year we will work together with our customers and colleagues to support causes at the heart of the local community. Every time we receive a referral from one of our clients, we will donate £25 to one of the chosen charities once an Adviser meeting is confirmed. All of our first ten chosen charities were selected for their outstanding work in the local community, they are:
St Michael’s Hospice, Harrogate: St Michael’s Hospice aims to help people affected by terminal illness to live as full a life as possible. They also provide end-of-life hospice care to people in the Harrogate District.
Cancer Research: Being one of the biggest charities in the UK, Cancer Research play a huge role in supplying necessary funding to doctors, scientists and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. They also provide valuable cancer information to the public so anyone in need can learn more at any time.
British Heart Foundation: Another well-known charity, the British Heart Foundation work towards researching cures and treatments for heart and circulatory diseases with the ultimate aim of ‘beating heartbreak forever’.
Martin House: The aim of Yorkshire based Martin House is to provide family-led care for children with life shortening conditions. It is a place where children, young people and their families can come to stay from time to time along their journey and find support, rest and practical help.
Tiny Lives: This Newcastle based charity helps to care for premature and sick new-born babies, along with their mothers and families, in the Special Care Baby Unit of the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
Harrogate Homeless Project: Aiming to support homeless people in and around Harrogate, this project is formed of a team of committed individuals, helping homeless people with the strategies, support and services that are needed to begin the difficult journey back to independent living.
MIND: With branches across England, MIND provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health issues.
Sporting Memories: This is the world’s first charity dedicated to Sports Reminiscence & Physical Activities. It supports older people living in England and Wales with dementia, depression and loneliness by engaging them in social activities and helping them to recall memories of watching or playing sport.
Hope Pastures: West Yorkshire’s Hope Pastures rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes horses, ponies and donkeys. They also provide the opportunity for people to meet the animals and learn about them and how to look after them.
IDAS: IDAS is the largest specialist charity in Yorkshire supporting anyone experiencing or affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence. Their services include refuge accommodation, community-based support, peer mentoring, group work and access to a free, confidential out of hours helpline.
